Arthur's Story
As a part of the engineering program and MESA at Palo Verde High School Arthur has always had his eye set on STEM, and decided to pursue a degree in computer science at the University of Arizona. While at the University he was able to participate in the OSIRIS-REx mission as a student developer managing website reporting information corresponding to downlinks - current data received from OSIRIS-REx and was able to collaborate with individuals across various academic and technical backgrounds. In addition, I worked alongside interdisciplinary teams to design, test, and maintain vital mission webpages. Arthur credits this experience with bridging the gap between the information learned in the classroom and the expectations from the real-world industry.
In addition to the OSIRIS-REx, Arthur worked with the UA Computer Science Department as an office assistant. This experience lead to an opportunity to serve as an Academic Advisor for the department after graduation and then as their coordinator of Career Development while working on his Master's Degree. During this time Arthur guided and support many other students in navigating their degree programs and planning for their future. Upon completing his Master's Degree in Data Science, he found a new opportunity with the Tucson Police Department as a Data Analysis Supervisor.
